Ferro Cosmetics Ultimate Mineral Foundation

I am a dope when it comes to loose powders and foundations. I always think they’re not worth the hassle – they’re messy, product gets all over the place and if you’re like me, they get dropped a lot. I have always been a liquid foundation and pressed powder girl. I put my foundation, concealer and powder on while I mouthwash in the morning. It’s been my routine for years and I’ve never wanted to change it. When I received a sample of Ferro Cosmetic’s Ultimate Mineral Foundation in December’s Topbox, I didn’t give it too much thought because foundation samples either don’t match my skin tone or I’m just not interested in trying something new.

Admittedly, I had never heard of Ferro Cosmetics until I received my Topbox. While browsing their site, I read the story of how Krissy Ferro came up with the idea and how she’s grown the business. Basically, Krissy has been a makeup artist for years and after listening to clients likes and dislikes on makeup, she decided to try to create a line that worked for everyone. She started working on the formulas in 2006 and since then they’ve grown to a pretty large catalog of products, all that are 100% real minerals, vegan, and cruelty free. The packaging for Ultimate Mineral Foundation is slightly different from other larger mineral products. Instead of of the whole container having a sifter top, Ferro only has a half sifter that you can close for extra spillage prevention. It took me a few times looking at it to figure out how to open it!

I tried my sample with liquid foundation as my base, and used it more for setting than coverage. I really liked how it looked, so when Topbox announced their boxing day sale, I thought it would be a good time to buy a full size to really see how I liked it. This was perfect timing because I found out that my usual foundation has been discontinued and is no longer available for sale.

I’ve been using¬†Ultimate Mineral Foundation daily for the last couple of weeks and I can honestly say that I love it. Like want-to-make-out-with-it love! Seriously. I had reservations about it filling the gap of my beloved liquid foundation, but I’m not sure I will go back after this.

Ferro’s Ultimate Mineral Foundation so versatile that it outshines any other foundation I’ve tried. I was skeptical that I could get so many different uses out of it, but I can use it just for concealing, setting, or for full coverage. I can put my face on in about two minutes now when it used to have to apply liquid foundation, concealer and finally powder. I like to use a damp flat brush or sponge to apply it for full coverage. It blends effortlessly and it dries matte so there is no need to apply any for setting. I love how my skin looks with it on and other people have noticed too – I’ve never received so many compliments on my skin.
